Faktiskt är wordosna redan här. Har varit antagligen någonsin efter folk startat använda att nytt-fangled bearbeta - handstil - för att göra något annat, än inventariet listar. Sedan du ska inte fyndwordo i ordboken, ska jag start med en definition och några exempel.

Wordos förbinds till typos, därför att de är missförstår skriftligen, men de är olika, därför att de inte är misspellings eller märker ut ur beställer. Lika typos, begås de av alla, och, trots visar våra bäst försök, wordos upp överallt. från klassificera informationsblad till de augusti sidorna av New York Times. Talar allmänt det tre grundläggande typer av wordos. Cleverly I-appell dem typ A, typ B och typ C.

Gjorde dig frågar sig någonsin yourself, ”är det platsen eller citerar, rite eller rätten, och principen eller rektor?”, och använd därefter det fla? Och din spellchecker hjälpte inte, därför att den inte ser något orätt. Och det finns inte, så avlägset, som stava går. Problemen är, att de är homophones, uttrycker att solitt likadant men stavas olikt och har olika betydelser. Appell I dessa skrivar en Wordos, och det finns en radda`- em.

När en typ en Wordo nedgångar under den allmänna överskriften av grammatik, det får vara en typ B Wordo. Du vet att du önskar att använda en pronomen, men den kunde vara där, deras, eller de är (mer homophones). Eller du använder en pronomen, och du får henne och henne blandat övre. Felplacerad apostrofnedgång in i denna typ för. När vad bör vara ett pluralt, blir ett possessivt, pojkarna som är hem- i stället för pojke hem, har du fått en typ B. Dessa är antagligen de mest allmänningwordosna och ofta det mest hård för att fånga.

För folk, som försök att vara egentligen exakt, när det kommer till att välja precis rätten uttrycker, finns det typen C Wordo till klockan ut för. Detta, när du gör fel primat mellan två, uttrycker, därför att de får utbytte i tillfällig handstil, eller dem är uttrycker som har förbundit eller even överlappande betydelser. You write, “Presently, he’s sleeping,” instead of “currently,” Or, you write, “The landscape was primordial,” when you really meant “primeval.” Some common pairs are between vs. among, less vs. fewer, aggravate vs. annoy and historic vs. historical.

I must admit that I know a lot about wordos because I go looking for them. I hunt them down. They can make for some pretty amusing reading. I especially like the mental pictures they conjure up. In an article about getting published, the writer described meeting an editor who was very negative about his work. He wrote, “I was so crushed that I left with my tale between my legs.” Just picture that. He went in with his novel, and after the editor told him how bad it was, he left with the manuscript clamped between his knees. Now, that’s a wordo worth its salt. And that’s only one of hundreds I’ve collected (or committed).
